Theatre Under the Stars
The River has provided an accessible, affordable arts education for students with disabilities and their siblings for over 25 years. Arts engagement activities in the classroom offer students the opportunity to expand their imaginations, express themselves creatively, and boost their confidence.
Our dynamic curriculum is led by teaching artists with expertise in their artistic discipline and experience working with students of all abilities. Teaching assistants and volunteers support students in the classroom. A licensed nurse is present during on site courses and camps throughout the year. Since 1996, The River has provided a fine arts education for students with disabilities and their siblings. By design its focus is working with students with disabilities in the arts, it is not a behavior modification or therapeutic program.
The River Spring 2025 thematic focus is El Teatro Musical!
